Rolling:

Our precision Sendzimir rolling mills are fully equipped with the latest computer monitoring and Vollmer AGC. Capabilities range from .150" to .002" thick, up to 14" wide, and up to 4,000 lbs. HOOD engineers its rolling schedules to achieve our customers' mechanical properties for ferrous and non-ferrous alloys.

Annealing:

Our bright anneal strand furnaces feature controlled atmosphere with dewpoints as low as -80F and temperatures from 900F to 2100F. Using thermal engineering, HOOD controls metallurgical attributes such as grain size or drawability.

Slitting:

HOOD tension-free precision slitters process material .150" thick down to .002" with aggressive width-to-thickness ratios of 10-to-1 and less.

Leveling:

Due to the extreme thin materials processed at HOOD, some products require a leveling operation. HOOD can correct or set camber, cross-curve and flatness. In coordination with our metallurgical lab, all material is inspected for surface and dimensional characteristics per customer and regulatory requirements (ASTM, AME, ASM, ISO).
